WingDust Steel Town Girl

'Steel Town Girl' is the sister polish to 'These Broken Wings' which I showed you all in my last post and is another polish that I've been after for some time so I'm really happy that I finally have it :)

'Steel Town Girl' is a dark blue/teal toned holographic base with aqua and dark blue holographic flakes and glitter, topped off with 23 karat gold leaf!

This is a stunning polish!  It's a beautifully deep colour and all of the flakes give the polish even more depth!  The photos I've taken don't do it justice at all, it looks even more beautiful in person!

Application
This polish was easy to apply.  It dries quite quickly and was opaque after 3 thin coats of polish.  I used thin coats in order to layer the glitter, giving the polish a lot of depth.  To finish off I used a top coat to give a smooth, glossy finish so that none of the flakes stick up and catch on things.

WingDust These Broken Wings

I'm so happy that I've managed to get my hands on this polish as I've been waiting for it to be available in the UK for over a month! :)

'These Broken Wings' is the sister polish to 'Steel Town Girl' and is a beautiful lilac/periwinkle toned holographic base, with a blue shimmer, silver and bright blue iridescent flakes and glitter, and 12 karat white gold leaf.

This is a truly beautiful polish and while I've tried my best to capture it, it's even more beautiful in person! :)  It's a very delicate polish and the flakes give the polish a lot of depth, it's stunning!

Application
I thought that this polish would be hard to apply due to all of the flakes but it wasn't!  This polish was easy to apply, dried quite quickly and was opaque after 3 thin coats.  For this polish it think thin coats work best so that you get more depth with the glitter and flakes.  Due to the flakes I would use a top coat to get a smooth, glossy, even finish.

This polish is currently available from Rainbow Connection for £10.90 and there's free delivery if you spend more than £20!

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

I was unsure about whether or not to buy this top coat as I had read both positive and negative reviews of it online.  Some people said that it chipped quickly and that the polish shrank away from the edges of the nail as it dried.  Other people said that it was amazing and that it didn't chip for days.  I desperately needed a new top coat so I decided to risk it and bought a bottle from eBay.
Application
I found this polish easy to apply and it dried extremely quickly!  It was touch dry within 2 minutes of applying, had a really smooth finish and my polish didn't shrink away from the edges of my nail.
I've been wearing my current mani with this top coat for 4 days now and still no major sign of chipping!  This is after doing things which would usually chip my nails quite significantly so I'm really impressed with this top coat and will be using it from now on :)

Laquerdaisical Icicool

Hi guys, I just want to apologise in advance for the messy edges on my nails, I was rushing and so didn't have time to tidy them up... Ok, this polish is from the amazing UK indie brand Laquerdaisical.  All of Alexia's polishes are handmade and hand mixed and so each bottle is unique! :)

'Icicool' is a pale blue base with small iridescent silver and blue circle glitter in various shades and larger dark blue hexagon glitter.

On my thumb and ring finger, I used 5 coats of Icicool by itself, and on my index finger, middle finger and little finger I used 1 coat of Icicool over a gradient which I did using Models Own 'Snow White' as a base and Barry M 'Blue Moon' for the gradient.

I adore this polish (and not just because it has an amazing name), however the base is quite thin and so would take quite a few coats for full opacity.  Personally I think this polish works better as a glitter top coat, which would look amazing over white, grey, pale blue and any other colour with a blue-ish tone to it.

Application
This polish was easy to apply - I didn't have to dig around to get some of the larger dark blue hexagon glitter - and it dried quickly and evenly

You can buy this polish from the Laquerdaisical Facebook page by sending Alexia a message through the Facebook page.  All polishes are available in 5ml and 15ml bottles :)

F.U.N Lacquer Diamond Holo Top Coat

I bought this polish as I loved the idea of a holographic top coat that could make any polish holographic!  And it does! :) It also works on its own, only requiring 3-4 coats to get a solid silver holographic finish.  You may want to apply more coats if you want the polish to be fully opaque so that you can't see the nail line.

Application
This polish is extremely easy to apply as it isn't too thick and it dries quickly.  The polish gives an even, holographic finish which looks amazing, even in daylight.  I quite often get distracted, and just stare at my nails as the rainbow effect is mesmerising!  This polish looks particularly amazing under a bright light where you can see its full holographic effect.  I used 4 thin coats but for full opacity I would use 5.

I bought my bottle from Rainbow Connection and it is available in two sizes - £12 for 16.7ml or £7.70 for 7ml.  There is free delivery on all orders over £20!
